I’ve had the Errant X-PAC Backpack (black) for over 3 years now. I’ve tried so many other bags (I’m a self-diagnosed bag addict perpetually in search of the perfect bag). Wandrd, Waterfield, Peak Design, McKinnon, LowePro, Manfrotto, PGYTECH, Brevite, etc. I always come back to this bag. It’s not perfect, but it’s as close as I’ve found.
What I like:
1) Easy top access. The magnetic flap is protective and works great if you want to secure it more, there is a zipper as well. The flap, when latched, covers the front external access pocket too, which adds additional security. Just very well thought out IMO. I keep my Sony A74 in the top of the bag inside a compact camera case. I can quickly access my camera that way. I also keep my tech pouch and DJI Action 2 in the top. For me, this is the best execution of a top access (easy magnetic flap with the additional security of a zipper underneath).
2) Clamshell opening. This makes it easy to access 90% of the interior space of the bag. I keep my DJI Mini 3 Pro in the bottom of the bag in the PGYTECH OneMo Shoulder Bag.
3) The build quality and design. This bag still looks great. I just changed the zipper pulls because I wanted some orange on the outside of the bag. Everything has stood up very well. The storm guard YKK zippers are all still working perfectly. The bag itself is very weather resistant (I have the rain cover, but never use it). I love the matte black look with the understated branding. It doesn’t look like a turtle…
