A dream of a bag

I was unsure if this was the bag for me, according to reviews on YouTube ... but once I held it in my hands, I immediately fell in love with it. It is now my daily driver ... But do yourself a favor and purchase the divider floor! Without it, things get totally messy. With the floor installed, you have 2 thirds on the bottom, accessible via the side door, and one third on the top, accessible via the the top flap.

It really is a dream of a backpack. Looks are subjective, but to me this is the best looking bag out there. And it is highly functional, too. The two quick access pockets, on the top and the side, are - in contrast to sooo many other bags - very usable. The laptop/tablet section is top notch. One additional recommendation: don't get the "premium" divider wall. It just takes up space and is pretty much useless unless you go to the gym on a daily basis.

Other than that I only have positive things to say. One minor flaw is that the bottom panel is a little flimsy, but still very protective against fluids. But it isn't padded, so don't put anything valuable in the bottom. The zippers are chunky, and look like they could hold an elephant. The whole bag is a unique mixture of adventure and tech bag. The xpc-Version has a golden interior, which just looks awesome in combination with the black. The one thing that is pretty much useless to me is the "magazine pocket". But a bag with so much functionality, features and looks ... you won't find this combination elsewhere.

I didn't want to love this pack as much as I do.

Background: I have used the same pack as an EDC for over fifteen years, a North Face Surge. A great bag, a little technical looking for work (I am in tech), but I've been very happy. I had to send it in for repairs, which took 8 weeks so I needed a new bag. I'd been on the low key hunt for a replacement for a few years, tried a few, nothing took like my Surge.

Until the Errant Pro X-Pac. I didn't want to love this bag so much, because they messed up my order and it took forever to ship. I was prepared to return it immediately after several mishaps getting it. But it was love at first sight.

My favorite thing about the bag is that the pockets are very accessible. The top outer pouch is the perfect size for chargers, snacks, airpods, glasses - the stuff you grab frequently. It also has a mini-sleeve for keys and badges, so they're always easy to find. The outside has a bottle carrier on one side, and the other side has a zipper to access the main compartment, which is otherwise accessible by opening up the top. This side zipper is genius. I pack the main compartment from the top, but that side zipper makes things accessible with ease - I love it. The main compartment holds a surprising amount, I joke it is a bag of holding.

The second main compartment is less accessible, as you have to unzip the whole bag - this is where your electronics go, with sleeves that fit my macbook, pad (yes I still use one), ipad, and kindle. All well cushioned and very accessible once you open…
